The manufacturer of hardware wallets for storing cryptocurrency Trezor plans to expand the range of supported digital assets. The team said it will add native support specifically for Ethereum, Ethereum Classic and ERC20 tokens.
As stated in the text of the corporate blog, these cryptocurrencies have been supported by Trezor hardware devices for quite a long time. But now the development team, which used to have the help of developers from MyEtherWallet, MyCrypto and MetaMask, will be able to independently support the specified cryptocurrencies.
Also, Trezor notes that these extensions are also available to owners of its devices and will not be disabled in the foreseeable future. To gain access to new functionality, users need to select Ethereum or Ethereum Classic in the assets tab located in the upper left corner of the interface and click on “Go to Trezor Ethereum Wallet”. After that, they should see a window with the account balance and the equivalent in the chosen fiat currency.
Also in this window, there is the ability to add tokens at the discretion of the user. The functions of receiving and transferring assets work in the same way as for other cryptocurrencies supported in the Trezor Wallet interface. If desired, the user can access advanced settings to set the limit and cost of gas, as well as add additional data to his transaction.
